We offer different ways to access to our print services - we also offer full printing services, screen-printing & workshops.





1. Studio Time


Experience Level: Very Experienced

Details:  Book time to independently use the risograph machine, screenprinting services and our general studio facilities. 

All new-to-SRC folks must book our Studio Introduction before printing independently.

Best for: Experienced risograph printers looking to print personal work.

2. Flash Printing


Experience Level: Medium -> Very Experienced

Details: We print your design on the spot and briefly explain the process as we go. Files must be prepped ahead of time.

Best for: A first exposure to risograph for those familiar with setting up print files, printing multiple copies of a simple design, quick turnaround.

3. Consultation


Experience Level: Any level

Details: We offer a 45 minute consultations on a range of topics from  publications, file-prepping, design to general inquiries.

4. Workshops


Experience Level: Any level

Details: In our individual/group  workshops, we'll guide you through the entire riso process. 

Best for: A more in-depth learning experience, learning about file set-up, trying something new with an experienced instructor.

Risograph Studio Time Access Progression


No Experience

For those who have an interest in Risography, and want to learn how to independently operate a machine to make prints, books and more!

Progression:
Riso 101 or Riso Poster Making → Riso 102 → Independent Studio Time

Medium Experience

For those who can confidently prepare files for printing but want to learn machine operation or haven’t printed in a while.

Progression: Riso 102 → Independent Studio Time

Very Experienced

For people who have recent and extensive printing experience with Risograph/production, and are looking to get access to a studio!

Progression:
Intro to Studio/Riso Certification (Riso or Non-Riso) → Independent Studio Time (Riso or Non-Riso)

Sundays: 12-6pm

We offer risograph studio rental time for experienced riso operators on our MF-9450 dual color risograph or EZ591 (one drum). Studio time is rented on an hourly basis.  

All new-to-SRC folks must take our Studio Orientation (Riso) - an orientation to our space, equipment, and housekeeping rules which also includes our Riso Certification. Riso Certification ensures that you can independently operate our Riso machines properly and safely, which includes switching drums, sending files, and basic troubleshooting.

︎︎︎We have limited paper in stock, but we encourage users to bring their own paper
︎︎︎You have access to any equipment in the studio during thsi time as well.
︎︎︎Studio time can be booked 48 hours in advance.

*Riso Certification is valid for one-year after the last time you printed with us.


Looking to use the VINYL CUTTER or PERFECT BINDER during Studio Time?

To use the vinyl cutter or perfect binder, you will need to take the training session first. This training will walk you through setup, materials, basics of usage, and best practices so you can safely and confidently use the machine independently during Studio Time.

  • No vinyl or materials are included in studio time.
  • Please note that there is a $1.75 charge per book for use of the machine.

We offer non-risograph studio rental time that includes to access our studio facilities and equipment. Studio time can be booked 48 hours in advance.

All new-to-SRC folks must take our Studio Orientation (Non-Riso) - an orientation to our space, equipment, and housekeeping rules - before booking studio time.

During Studio Time, you will have access to
the Guillotine, Heatpress machine, Booklet maker, Coil Spiral Binding Machine, Comb Binding Machine, Perforator Machine, Shrink Wrapping Machine & Manual Scoring Machine ->  If you’d like to use any of the above equipment, please let us know via email 48 hours in advance

We also have a variety of tools including but not limited to bone folders, metal ruler, exacto knives, scissors, long arm staples, heavy duty staples, hole punches, awl, metal clips, corner rounders.

Studio Time

(Screenprinting)
Experience Level: Very Experienced

Wednesday: 3-7pm
Thursday:

All new-to-SRC folks must book our Screenprinting Studio Orientation- an orientation to our screenprinting space, equipment, and housekeeping rules. Please note that this is not a workshop. The orientation is about 45 min after which you will be able to use the studio for the remainder of the session, which is a total of 4 hrs.

We have a 6-color press with microregistration, a flash dryer, washout booth, 23x36 UV LED exposure unit, 24” film positive printers, conveyor dryer, as well as an assortment of screens, plastisol and water-based inks

︎︎︎Studio time can be booked 72 hours in advance.
︎︎︎We also provide screen services such as reclaiming and burning. Please contact printing@secretrisoclub.com for any screen related inquiries.

*Sliding Scale Community Rates:
QTBIPOC folks or community-based organizations are eligible for sliding scale prices (self-identified). 

We offer trimming at $2/cut.

Our maximum is 100 prints per slot. If you’re interested in a print run of more than 75, please fill out our quote form.
–>  Appointments are available on a first come, first serve basis. In order to reserve a flash printing slot please book ahead of time. You can make an appointment to reserve a spot ahead of time or walk-in but that’s not guaranteed. 

  • Files need to be prepared ahead of time.
  • Flash printing is reserved for printing one-sheet posters/zines/postcards only.
  • If you are wanting to print multiple things at a large scale, please book one appointment per print job.
  • Paper is provided. We have either 80C off-white or white and 80T off-white or white paper available. You are also welcome to bring your own paper if you’d like.

  • File-Prepping: for support getting files ready for Risograph printing (posters/zines/etc)
  • Design: for design projects including but not limited to branding/editorial/ publication/merchandise/etc.
  • General: for broader inquiries and potential collaborations. If none of the above categories fit what you’d like we can talk through your ideas and determine the best path forward together.

We offer a 45 minute consultation (in person or via video call) for an additional fee of $75.

Additional charges will apply if an incorrect package is selected (i.e. paid for a three color print, but the file is for 4 colors). Once you purchase, please fill out the Google form with the required information. 

Please expect your Riso printed artwork to be ready within 2-3 weeks for prints and up to 3-4 weeks for zines. The turnaround time begins when files are sent and approved for printing.
