Holly Meadows-Smith

Holly is a cofounder of Irrelevant Press and host of Web4, the offline rabbit hole speaker series, hosted monthly at Secret Riso Club. Irrelevant Press is a zine collective and internet shop based in Oakland, Brooklyn, and on the world wide web. They have been working together for 10 years to create, print, and publish zines and books. As a collective, their biggest motivation for working in books and publishing is building community and making the craft accessible to all.
“Secret Riso Club has become my haven for creative inspiration, education, and connection. The team has created a physical home in Brooklyn for so many incredible artists and publishers that live all over the world and in my social media feeds. SRC has curated a book shop of their work, provides a space for their art shows, hosts workshops for them to share their skills with others.
As a member of SRC, I feel so lucky to get to be in proximity of this amazing work and to benefit from such frequent programming. My own practice has evolved from learning in this space, most recently from a book binding workshop by Berlin-based Bruise Studios and a conversation on collaboration and creative networks with Mexico City-based Zamme Projects. SRC also allows me to extend my studio into their space with access to studio hours for printing and binding -- which is a huge help in NYC where space is limited!”

Vreni

Vreni has been compulsively drawing annoying things and posted them online since 2005. There is no known cure for her condition. She lives in Queens with her husband (less annoying) and cat (more annoying).
