Photography In Riso Workshop

︎︎︎ Club del Prado is a publishing project founded by Mateo Barbuzzi in 2016 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, currently based in Barcelona.

With a special emphasis on analog-produced practices and processes, it functions as a platform where both emerging and established artists can edit and publish their work.


In this workshop, participants will learn from Barcelona based publisher Club del Prado to learn best practices for printing photographs in Riso. Going beyond basic CMYK printing, we will explore how to best set-up files, pick color profiles, and translate photos into Riso prints. Participants will leave with 20 copies of their printed photo. Come prepared with a few photos to work on and 1-2 you’d like to print!

Participants will learn:


  • How to separate files in Photoshop
  • How to prepare and adjust setting for optimal Riso prints
  • How to pick the right color profile and inks
  • Best settings for printing in Riso

Day One:


  • Learn the basics of Riso printing - an overview of the machine and its processes.
  • Learn Photoshop tools for processing either B&W or full color photos into Riso friendly files
  • Process your own photo

Day Two:


  • Participants will schedule a print time for their printing session and print their photos in Riso
  • Leave a copy for the communal print gallery and photo swap table

Materials needed:

Computer with Adobe Photoshop (and InDesign is good but not obligatory), one photograph JPEG.

All sessions are in person at SRC in *Bushwick.
