Micro Grants For Political Zines


We are offering **three micro grants** to support the creation of politically engaged zines or publications.








Three Grants of $250 each.
This grant is designed to empower creators, activists, and writers who are passionate about addressing political and social issues through independent publishing. Whether your zine focuses on local politics, grassroots organizing, social justice, or any other critical issue, we want to help bring your vision to life.



**Deadlines:**

Submissions: December 18th, 11:59pm EST

Selected projects announced: January 18th, 2025

Release of publication: May 30th

**Eligibility:**

Open to individuals or small collectives interested in producing a zine or publication with a political focus

The project must emphasize original content and offer unique perspectives on political or social issues.

Creators from marginalized or underrepresented communities are especially encouraged to apply

Zines do not need to be in English, we encourage speakers and writers of all languages to apply
**Grant Details:**

Three grants of $250 each

The grant is compensation for the individual or collective working on the zine

Free working hours in our space for development and production

All materials provided by SRC & production costs covered for up to 100 copies

Production, printing & distribution support provided by SRC

Recipients will be selected based on the strength of their proposal, relevance to contemporary political discourse, and creativity.

The zines should be distributed at an accessible cost or free - the main purpose being to disseminate urgent information or fundraise; all zines can be sold/given away at SRC

The zines should be completed within five (5) months of receiving the grant


**How to Apply:**

 Submit a brief proposal (300-500 words) outlining the concept, topics to be covered, and the potential impact of your zine.

 Include a timeline for conception, design and production

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with the three recipients selected by a panel of community organizers, artists, and writers.
